The Pretty-in-Pastel vibes are a new-ish release from Cal Exotics. According to something I read in some random press release, they are geared toward “the more demure and feminine” ladies out there.
Well fuck.
Anyway…this vibrator is made of PU coated ABS plastic with a satin finish. It’s got a little bit of drag but is not a magnet for lint and dog hair. It comes in blue, pink and purple. It is waterproof, runs on two AA batteries, and has three vibration speeds. It’s just under six inches long and is an inch and a quarter in diameter.
The Pretty-in-Pastel vibrator in a hard toy…there is absolutely no give. It’s basically shaped like a boring traditional vibrator, but it has an interesting embossed texture. There is a little tattoo-looking swirl on either side of the toy. The texture can be felt during use and I totally dig it. If you don’t like texture, obviously you may not feel the same way. There’s also a bit of a rounded nipple on the tip of the toy. I don’t really think it adds or subtracts anything to/from the vibrator. It works just fine for clitoral stimulation, but I imagine it would perform just fine without that little detail.
There’s a single button on the bottom of the vibrator that turns the toy on and off and moves through the vibration speeds. The strongest vibration setting is pretty alright. It totally gets me off. The middle setting…meh. I won’t use it. But the lowest setting is just laughable. I can barely tell that it’s on. Honestly, I’m never impressed with the lowest vibration level on any toy that doesn’t plug into the wall, but this one is especially sad. It may as well be a two speed vibrator. And even then, the medium setting isn’t going to get me off. Sorry.
You can use silicone or water based lube with the Pretty-in-Pastel, and clean up is relatively simple. Soap and water or toy cleaner will do the trick. You may have to take a bit of extra care to make sure you clean out the nooks and crannies around the embossed design, but it’s not like you’ll need to whip out a toothbrush or use your fingernails. Don’t share this toy without a condom.
As usual, I kind of hate the packaging for this vibrator. It’s not as bad as the last toy I received from them, but they could definitely make some improvements in their packaging. There could be more information on the box…you know, like the materials and shit. Also, there isn’t a manual included, but the controls are really super simple, so I can’t really fault them that.
This toy is definitely a decent, non threatening vibrator with a bit of interesting texture. While it definitely isn’t the strongest, the highest setting will get me off. I generally prefer to use vibrators like this for clitoral stimulation, but the embossing on the Pretty-in-pastel feels pretty darn good inside my vag.
Thanks, Cal Exotics!
